Choose the Leather Repair Course That Gives You the Confidence You Need
Practical leather repair training with Melissa Edwards for complete beginners and existing professionals. Choose one workshop day, or add real customer-job experience with our 2- and 3-day courses.
You do not need to complete the 1-day course first. All three options are suitable for beginners.
One Core Skill Set. Three Ways to Learn It.

Which Leather Repair Course Is Right for You?
All three are suitable for complete beginners. Your decision comes down to whether you want workshop training alone, or additional time learning how the work is handled in the real world.

A Straightforward Recommendation
There is no deliberately confusing upgrade ladder. Choose the amount of support and real-world exposure that matches what you want to do next.
Choose 1 day if…
You mainly want the practical skills, you are adding leather work to an existing trade, or you are comfortable building experience independently afterwards.
Choose 2 days if…
You want the workshop training plus the reassurance of seeing how a genuine customer job is assessed, discussed and completed.
Choose 3 days if…
You want the strongest bridge into taking your own paid work, with two days to see more real situations and build confidence alongside Melissa.

Training Is One Thing. Doing It in Front of a Customer Is Another.
That is why the 2- and 3-day courses include time alongside Melissa on genuine customer bookings. You see how the technical training translates into the decisions, conversations and standards of paid work.
Assess real furniture
See how Melissa decides what is achievable before starting a repair.
See the customer side
Understand expectations, communication, job scope and professional conduct.
Watch problems get solved
Real jobs do not arrive as perfect training exercises. That is precisely their value.
Your Training Does Not End When You Leave.
Melissa Edwards runs Classic Leather Care as well as The Leather Academy, so the methods taught are grounded in commercial repair work. After training, you can continue to ask for technical help as you build experience on your own jobs.
Leather Training Course FAQs
Do I need to take the 1-day course before the 2- or 3-day course?
No. All three options are suitable for complete beginners. The 2- and 3-day courses include the workshop training and then add one or two days of real customer-job experience.
Which course is best if I want to start offering leather repairs professionally?
If you want the most real-world preparation before taking your own customer jobs, the 3-day course offers the greatest live-job exposure. The 2-day course is a strong middle option, while the 1-day course gives you the core workshop skills without a live-job day.
Do I need any previous experience?
No. The courses are suitable for complete beginners as well as cleaners, upholsterers, detailers and other professionals who want to add leather repair to their existing services.
When do courses run?
Courses run throughout the year. Contact us and we will discuss the course you are interested in and the next suitable availability. There is no need to wait for a fixed date shown on the website.
Where is the training based?
The Leather Academy is based in Bridgend, South Wales, at Unit 7, Crosby Yard Industrial Estate, CF31 1JZ.
